The results behind that growth

Some of the things I've worked on

I don't have one subject I write about. That's part of what I enjoy about the work. I've written about trading, technology, software, nonprofits, education, and a range of other subjects. My job is to understand the subject, understand the reader, and find the best way to communicate it.

Explaining Trading Concepts Without the Jargon

Trading can be difficult to understand, especially when you're new to it. I researched the subject and wrote content that explained complex trading concepts in a way that was easier for everyday readers to follow.

Helping a Nonprofit Tell Its Story

Every project starts with a problem

I don't see writing as the goal. I see it as a way to solve a communication problem. I first try to understand what needs to be communicated and who I'm communicating it to. That helps me decide what to write, what to leave out, and how to make the message work.

My Approach

01

Understand the problem

Before I start writing, I want to understand what we're trying to achieve. Who are we writing for? What do they need to know? And what are we trying to help them do?

Do the research

I dig into the subject, especially when it's something I'm not familiar with. I look at the available information, work out how things fit together, and figure out what the reader actually needs to understand.

Write and refine

Once I understand the subject and the audience, I start writing. Then I go back through it to make sure the information is accurate, the writing makes sense, and nothing is getting in the way of the reader.

About me

I've always been interested in how people understand things.

Give me a complicated subject, a messy document, or a product that makes perfect sense to the people who built it but nobody else, and I want to figure out how to explain it clearly.

That's what has kept me writing for the past seven years.

I've worked with nonprofit organisations, software companies, technology companies, and other businesses, creating everything from SEO content and website copy to marketing content and business communications.

I enjoy the research that happens before the writing just as much as the writing itself. I want to understand the subject, understand who I'm talking to, and then find the clearest way to communicate the idea.

A few words from people I've worked with

Ernest approaches content strategically. He takes time to understand the problem before writing, which results in content that's clear, purposeful, and aligned with business goals.

- Aziz Hamidov, CosmicCopies

Ernest helped turn our long term vision into a practical strategic plan that continues to guide our work. He asked thoughtful questions, understood what we were trying to achieve, and communicated our ideas very clearly.
